Judge Retires Stalking Case
A judge has opted to retire a criminal case in which a local man had been accused of stalking a co-worker.
The allegations against resident Kenneth G. Moore, age 66, of Hayes Road, were made in July by a female co-worker. She reported to police officers that Moore had followed her around outside of work, intimidated people who spoke to her at work, and that he had been telling people that they were involved in a relationship, which she said was untrue.
The victim had also alleged that Moore had broken through a locked door in the women’s restroom where they worked “to get to her.”
Moore was arrested on a stalking charge in July and the case moved into General Sessions Court.
After reviewing the case a judge has opted to retire the charges, and Moore was not found guilty of any crime. Moore’s attorney plans to enter an order of expungement at the first opportunity.
